Laird Behavioral Health Center provides the highest quality of inpatient geriatric psychiatric care for patients 55 and older. Laird Behavioral Health Center’s interdisciplinary team approach provides seniors with quality care focusing on preventing and minimizing acute and chronic illnesses.

Certified Respiratory Care Practitioners perform inpatient and outpatient testing and procedures for patients in need of cardiopulmonary services. The specialized procedures include pulmonary function testing, arterial blood gas analysis, small volume nebulizer treatments, electrocardiograms, cardiac stress testing and echocardiograms.

Champion EMS operates two Mobile Intensive Care Units (MICU) in Kilgore, serving Kilgore and Liberty City. These units are staffed 24hours/7days per week.

The Emergency Care Center is staffed 24-hours a day with skilled physicians, nurses and technicians who have been specially trained to deal with all medical emergencies, including rapid stabilization of heart attacks, strokes, trauma, poisoning, severe bleeding and other sudden illnesses in adults and children. Emergency Care Center physicians are board certified in emergency medicine or family practice with certifications in advanced cardiac life support, pediatric advanced life support and advanced trauma life support. Our facility is designated by the Texas Department of Health as a Level IV Trauma Center.

Flight For Life provides helicopter transportation for patients needing critical care service within a 150-mile radius, 24-county area. The Flight For Life team includes a pilot, flight nurse and flight paramedic specially trained in both adult and pediatric advanced life support for critical patient transports.

Behind the scenes experts such as the laboratory’s Medical Laboratory Technicians and Medical Technologists work together to help support the patient’s quick recovery. The laboratory of Laird Memorial Hospital is equipped with the latest in advanced technology and operates 24-hours a day.

New Directions is an intensive counseling program designed to provide day treatment in an outpatient setting. As part of Laird Behavioral Health Center, the goal of New Directions is to promote independence, implement life skills and motivate patients to achieve their goals. Our goal is to return adults to life better equipped to cope with challenges.

Patients requiring cardiac telemetry are monitored dually at Laird Memorial Hospital and Mother Frances Hospital, Tyler utilizing state-of-the-art cardiac monitoring systems.
